The regional team
For many branch related queries you will be able to find what you need on Update Online. You will often be able to find the answer you need by joining the egroup (see document at the bottom of this page) that is relevant to your role.
Below are details of the regional coordinators who, like you, are volunteers. While we want to hear from you we are not always able to answer immediately.
The NCT is organised into regions. In each region there is or should be a team of volunteers led by a regional co ordinator who are there to support branch volunteers so they can run their part of the NCT effectively.
If you are interested in joining the team please contact us. If you have previous branch volunteering experience and want to further work for your branch then please let us know.
What are the Regions?
The NCT follows the division of the UK into its four countries:
- England
- Northern Ireland
- Scotland
- Wales
and in addition divides England into the following regions, with the same boundaries as (at October 2008) regional government/strategic health authorities:
- North West
- North East
- Yorkshire and the Humber
- East Midlands
- West Midlands
- East of England
- London
- South East
- South Central
- South West
The branches in each region are supported by a volunteer region team, consisting of a Regional Co-ordinator, and a variety of other roles depending on the needs of their country or region and the availability of volunteers.
The Channel Islands receive direct support from UK Office.
What we can do for you
What we can offer:
Country/Regional Support Teams exist to assist in the support and administration of Branches within their boundaries and to improve communication and understanding throughout the NCT by:
- encouraging and providing opportunities for full and two-way communication between members in the country/region and the UK office.
- promoting close contact and co-operation between branches within the country/region for their mutual benefit.
- offering ongoing support and information to branch volunteers, including the preparation and issue to branches of support Mailings and Events Calendars
- providing formal and informal training for branch committee members and volunteers, including country/regional training events and/or within branch sessions
- developing good working relationships with their branches to facilitate the identification and sharing of resources, ideas, skills and expertise throughout the country/region and the NCT
- arranging, as required, facilitation within or between branches
- aiming to visit every branch within their region annually
- providing a representative from their region to the Branch Network Development Team (normally the Regional Co-ordinator)
- providing feedback to the UK office on branch reactions to new systems, policies or consultation exercises
- contacting branches in order to encourage the recruitment and retention of members and volunteers, in support of NCT campaigning objectives, or to assist with administrative, financial or constitutional requirements.
Who we are
We are all volunteers, just like you, who use our time to help you make a difference for parents in your area.
